In this walk of advanced level of difficulty our guide will show you the special vegetation characteristic of the páramo and its transition when descending increasingly towards the mystical and famous cloud forest. We start the route at 3,491 meters above sea level and descend to 2,200m.
Cerro Buena Vista is a mountain within Perez Zeledon and is near Cerro de la Muerte, east of Cerro Frío and southwest of Cerro La Asunción.
We will begin our walk in the facilities of the Hotel Savegre and we will ascend until arriving at the highest part of the Buena Vista Hill to the 3492 meters on the level of the sea. In the upper part of the hill we are waiting for an impressive view, with good climatic conditions it is possible to observe the South Central Pacific and some of the volcanoes of the central volcanic mountain range.
Part of the beauty of this hike, is that at the beginning of the tour, we can appreciate the cloud forest of huge oaks and hundreds of evergreen plants and as we ascend the vegetation will change drastically until reaching the Sub Alpine Forest in which the vegetation does not grows to more than one meter in height (characteristic vegetation of the páramo, product of the height).
Without a doubt, this is a unique experience that will stay with you forever.
