Stop At: Parque Nacional Marino Ballena, Uvita 60504 Costa Rica

The Ballena Marine Natural Park is located in the province of Puntarenas in Costa Rica, on its Pacific coast and more specifically in Uvita. It covers a maritime area but also protects some coastal areas and spectacular beaches such as Playa Uvita. But above all it is the perfect place for the sighting of whales and dolphins. The most common whales to observe in the Marine Whale Park are the humpback whales which measure approximately 13 to 16 meters.

Whales and dolphins emerge from the water and offer a spectacle that you can witness from the launch in the sea.

The humpback whales arrive every year (from July to October) to carry out their breeding cycle; They arrive at the point of the Park where there is a rock and sand formation that resembles the tail of a whale.

This curiosity is the main attraction of the place. In addition to the humpback whale, species such as the spotted dolphin, the nose dolphin, can be found in its waters of bottle, the stingray, the hammerhead shark, the parrotfish and the mackerel.
