Tortuguero National Park is a national park in the Limón Province of Costa Rica. It is situated within the Tortuguero Conservation Area of the northeastern part of the country. Despite its remote location, reachable only by airplane or boat, it is the third-most visited park in Costa Rica. The park has a large variety of biological diversity due to the existence within the reserve of eleven different habitats, including rainforest, mangrove forests, swamps, beaches, and lagoons. Located in a tropical climate, it is very humid, and receives up to 250 inches (6,400 mm) of rain a year.
The park, a protected area within the northeastern Caribbean wetlands, was recognized under Ramsar Convention on 3 March 1991 for its rich biological diversity and ecosystems that support threatened flora and fauna species. Set in a natural wetland of the Caribbean coast, it forms a corridor with another protected area, the Indio Maíz Biological Reserve of Nicaragua

Itinerary
Day 1: San Jose to Tortuguero National Park
Stop At: Tortuguero, Tortuguero, Province of Limon
At aprox 06:00 a.m. We will pick you up early in the morning at your Hotel in San Jose.
Admire the biodiversity of an astonishing protected area in Costa Rica as we drive by Braulio Carrillo National Park, a primary forest in 95% of its extension.
08:30 a.m Have a taste of our delicious breakfast in route.
Between 10:30 and 11.00 am Aprox. Board a comfortable boat upon arrival to the port and let this extraordinarily exotic paradise enchant you, as you travel along the Tortuguero Canals.
Have a one-in-a-lifetime experience in this unique place surrounded by a great variety of flora and fauna of breathtaking beauty.
01:00 p.m Enjoy a refreshing cocktail and a delicious Lunch as we welcome you to our hotel. – 2:30 p.m After lunch, enjoy nature in all its splendor by touring the canals and taking your best photos .
7:00 p.m A delightful dinner will be served upon arrival to the lodge. OPTIONAL NIGHT TOUR: Walk on the beach and admire the spawning of Tortuga Verde. (July to September).
