3 Days Tortuguero National Park Walking Canoe Tour Eco Adventure

This enchanted and secluded park is the save heaven of many different species of while life not only native of Costa Rica, but to the Americas. Travelling through the waters of the hidden lagoons and canals as the flowering vine covered trees blend in with their own water reflection we will have the unique experience of observing as close as possible several species of flora and fauna. It is easy to observe several species of crocodiles, toucan, monkeys, slots, macaws, iguanas and some others. Among such species we find the majestic green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas) which has in Tortuguero 21 miles of beach to nest in (July to October); the largest nesting site of the western hemisphere. Tortuguero is considered the most important nesting site on the western half of the caribbean for the green turtle that comes to the beach to nest every year. . Please note that the nesting tour only takes place at night and you will not see turtles nesting on the beach during this one day tour.

1. Canoe tour: Duration 2 hours On the canoe tour we can navigate the Tortuguero canals, observe a wide variety of animals, and enjoy a privileged view. 2. Night Tour (November to June) or Turtle Spawning (July to October): Duration 2 hours With the help of the best certified guides, we will be able to walk in the forest during the night, and observe the animals that interact in the dark. 3. Tour viewpoint: Duration 2 hours It is a small dormant volcano that formed approximately 1.8 billion years ago, has an altitude of 119 meters. On this tour, we will reach the highest point of the Caribbean coast, where we will enjoy a spectacular view. 4. Hike trail day: Duration 2 hours On the day walk we will enter the trails of the national park and we will appreciate a great variety of flora and fauna.

Tortuguero National Park is a national park in the Limón Province of Costa Rica. It is situated within the Tortuguero Conservation Area of the northeastern part of the country. Despite its remote location, reachable only by airplane or boat, it is the third-most visited park in Costa Rica. Located in a tropical climate, it is very humid, and receives up to 250 inches (6,400 mm) of rain a year. Seeing the hundreds of behemoth mothers, who can weigh up 700 pounds, haul themselves ashore to dig nests and lay eggs is an experience probably only surpassed by the sight of countless inch-long baby turtles clumsily making their way to the sea two months later.
