Stop At: Rancho Biriteca, VQC8+CCH, San José Province, San José, Costa Rica
On this tour, you will travel to the mountains where you will visit the Quitirrisi Indigenous Reserve, home of the Huetar Tribe. On this cultural experience, you will be immersed in a beautiful dense forest, as the Chief of the tribe (or his son), walks you through their ceremonies’ center, used for their meetings, as well as their health and spiritual rituals.
Discover Indigenous Culture of Costa Rica as one of the members of the tribe explains about their history, from ancient times before the Spanish arrived, until now. Also, the tribe’s member will explain the challenges of being a native person in modern times.
Then, you will take a walk around the reserve observing the different sites and buildings where their rituals are done, such as illness curing and spiritual cleaning ceremonies, all done with natural medicinal plants that they cultivate. As part of this walk, you will also visit a real indigenous cemetery, where you will learn a bit more about their culture.

Stop At: Rescue Center Costa Rica, Calle Guacima, Alajuela 00000 Costa Rica
Afterward, travel to the countryside near San Jose, where you will visit a Costa Rican Animal Rescue Center specialized in rehabilitating sloths and other animals of the rainforest.
Learn about the beautiful sloths with your guide, and observe how they are rehabilitated at the different “sloth gardens”, which are small natural enclosures where they are kept while they get recovered before they are taken back into the wild. At this rescue center, you will also have the opportunity to observe other Rainforest Animals that are rehabilitating, such as monkeys, scarlet macaws, coatis, agoutis, kinkajous, parrots, toucans, and many other species, there are always animals rotating as they are brought to the center by the people who find them injured. After visiting all of these great sites, you will go back to your hotel in the San Jose area.
