Afro-Dominican history

Santo Domingo Trip Overview

The history of the colonial era is told mostly from a Spanish Latino perspective, dissociating the importance and significant contributions of black-Afro-descendant culture to the Dominican Republic, almost leaving an empty bias on the resistance of the African diasporas on the island.

I intend to provide a historical look at what happened during the period of slavery in addition to the current view of the Dominican and its identity or not corresponding to the Afro heritage.
