Itinerary

Day 1: Sierpe – Drake Bay

Stop At: Sierpe, Sierpe, Province of Puntarenas
11:30 am take the boat: Sierpe – Drake Bay or plane from San José *if available.
Navigate through the the Sierpe under the gaze of crocodiles during 1 hrs until you reach Drake Bay.
Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Drake Bay, Drake Bay, Osa Peninsula, Province of Puntarenas
Once you reach the beach, your host will be waiting for you on the beach. Then, you will be transported to your hotel, check in and Lunch.
Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Tamandua Biological Station Lodge, Drake Bay Town, Provincia de Puntarenas, Costa Rica
After lunch you will take a 4×4 vehicle and head towards tamandua biological station. Found deep in the jungle. At 02:30 pm you will start a canyoning tour that last 3 hrs. Where you are going to explore the beautiful jungles of Osa peninsula.

At 06:00 pm you will be back for dinner and then rest.

Day 2: Drake Bay – Corcovado

Stop At: Drake Bay, Drake Bay, Osa Peninsula, Province of Puntarenas
The day starts early with the first lights and sounds of the roaring monkeys and singing birds. Time for break fast at 05:30 am. The boat departures towards Sirena station at 06:15 am
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Corcovado National Park, Corcovado National Park, Osa Peninsula, Province of Puntarenas
During 1 hrs you will be exploring the luxury coast of Osa peninsula. Chances are that you will find turtles, rays or dolphins in the way.
Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Sirena Ranger Station, Corcovado National Park Costa Rica
Once you reach the black sand beach of Sirena station, you will head to the station. Then, you can leave your luggages and start the corcovado adventure. During the next 3 hrs you will be exploring amazing trails in the search of animals.
Duration: 4 hours

Lunch break and little rest at 12 pm. This is the hottest time of the day. Therefore, the break is strategic to wait for animals to show up.

After the break we get ready to explore more off the beaten track trails. Our quest will be to find incredible wildlife and landscape. Likewise, you will have swim in the refreshing jungle water of Corcovado.

We come back with the last lights of the day, at 05:30 pm. Right after the sun drowns in the vast pacific. Surely, you will be hungry and fortunately, the staff of Sirena station has an amazing dinner. Furthermore, this will be a great time to count the species of animals that you saw and share the stories of the trip with your.

Despite the fact that the you want to remain observing the amazing starry sky above. You will need to rest because the next day will come with more adventures.

Day 3: Sirena Ranger Station – Back to Drake Bay.

Stop At: Sirena Ranger Station, Corcovado National Park Costa Rica
The day starts early at 05:00 am. During the early hours of the morning we can enjoy a great diversity of animals that prefer lower temperatures to hang out.

At 07:15 am we will be back for at station for breakfast. Then you will take a break of 1.5 hrs.

At 08:30 am you will depart towards the primary of Corcovado, during this expedition you will massive trees and secret trails.

Stop At: Drake Bay, Drake Bay, Osa Peninsula, Province of Puntarenas
At noot you will take the boat towards Drake Bay.
Duration: 1 hour

At 01:30 you will back in your hotel. In the afternoon you can hang out on your own and explore the beach, the paradisiacal town or just relax in your lodge looking at the ocean and enjoying a “pina colada”

“Optional” At 06:30 pm you can decide whether you want to go and join us in a night tour or if you prefer to just go and explore the night life of Drake bay and its diverse gastronomy.

If you decide the night tour:

You will go with your guide and explore an amazing trail, where you can find frogs, snakes and insects… Don´t worry your guide is a professional certified naturalist. You are in great hands.
Night tour last 2 hrs.

“Optional” At 06:30 pm you can decide whether you want to go and join us in a night tour or if you prefer to just go and explore the night life of Drake bay and its diverse gastronomy.

If you decide the night tour:

You will go with your guide and explore an amazing trail, where you can find frogs, snakes and insects… Don´t worry your guide is a professional certified naturalist. You are in great hands.
Night tour last 2 hrs.

Day 4: Snorkeling or Diving in Caño Island

Stop At: Drake Bay, Drake Bay, Osa Peninsula, Province of Puntarenas
06:45 am is time for breakfast because the Cano island adventure starts at 07:30 am.
Duration: 1 hour

During the next hour after departure we will navigate in the vast pacific. It is possible that you will be able to observe whales or dolphins that come to the surface to celebrate life.

This boat ride last 1 hrs.

Before reaching the Island there are fantastic diving and snorkeling spots where you can search for turtles, rays and colorful fish. Cano Island is definitely a great spot to enjoy the great marine diversity of the pacific ocean.
The first snorkel or dive last 45 min.

After the firs snorkel you can take a break to relax in the beach of cano island.

After the break you return back to the water, ready to explore the amazing marine realm that offer an authentic show of color, amazing shapes and forms.

Stop At: Playa San Josecito, Drake Bay Costa Rica
Time for lunch… The boat will take you to one the most beautiful beaches of Costa Rica and there, you will be able to enjoy a picnic lunch and rest under the palms and almond trees.

Day 5: Drake Bay – Mangrooves of Sierpe – Boruca indigenous reserve

Stop At: Drake Bay, Drake Bay, Osa Peninsula, Province of Puntarenas
Breakfast: 06:30 am. Time to say goodbye to Drake Bay and head towards the mangroves of Sierpe.
Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Sierpe, Sierpe, Province of Puntarenas
At 07:30 am you will depart towards Sierpe from Drake Bay. In the way you will navigate through the mangroves of Sierpe, looking for amazing wildlife hidden in the canals. It is very likely that at this point you will have over 100 animal species in your list. But, undoubtedly, Siepe will significantly increase the amount since it is one of the best places to see wildlife in the world.

Stop At: Boruca, Boruca, Province of Puntarenas
At 12:00 pm your driver and guide will take through the winding road that leads to Boruca indigenous reserve.
In boruca you will share a traditional lunch with the indigenous. Additionally, they will be explaining their culture and legends… There is a lot to learn about the nature concept.
After lunch they will show you how they craft amazing masks and then you will go to the museum where they hide ancestral tales.

Stop At: Ujarras, Ujarras, Province of Cartago
After the visiting the borucas your guide will drive for one more hour until you reach ujarras indigenous reserver. Once there, a local family will be happy to welcome you and share their amazing property, where you will find rivers, pools and farms.

At night you can decide to rest or have some drinks with locals…You got to try costa rican countryside drinks.

The night will be in their farm.

Accommodation included: At night you will reach another indigenous reserve, where you will sleep in a house of a local family.

Day 6: Durika Biological Reserve

Stop At: Camino a Durika, Cam. a Durika, Provincia de Puntarenas, Costa Rica
The morning starts early at 06:00 am when you have breakfast and then leave in taxi to “Ceibo”. The start point of your talamanca mountain hike.

The hike last 4 hrs.

Duration: 5 hours

Stop At: Durika Community and Biological Reserve, 16 kms NE de Buenos Aires,, Provincia de Puntarenas, Costa Rica
We reach Durika on time to enjoy an amazing lunch. This community is located in the middle of the nowhere surrounded by cloud forest and full of incredible landscapes.
After lunch you can have a break of 2 hrs.

Stop At: Durika Community and Biological Reserve, 16 kms NE de Buenos Aires,, Provincia de Puntarenas, Costa Rica
At 03:30 pm you can join your guide to a waterfall hike to swim and refresh in the mountain waters.
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Durika Community and Biological Reserve, 16 kms NE de Buenos Aires,, Provincia de Puntarenas, Costa Rica
Join the community and share the food they cultivate organically. This dinner will be different. The nights in the mountains are very special you can enjoy them before resting.

Day 7: The camp beyond the clouds

Stop At: Durika Community and Biological Reserve, 16 kms NE de Buenos Aires,, Provincia de Puntarenas, Costa Rica
Your journey to the nowhere starts early at 07:00 am with breakfast.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Olam, Puntarenas Province, Punta Arenas, Costa Rica
After breakfast you will join your two mountain guides that will take you to an unforgettable journey beyond the clouds.
At some point of the hike you will feel you are getting to the nowhere. And suddenly you will find your camp.
Duration: 5 hours

Stop At: Parque Internacional La Amistad, Costa Rica
Lunch will be at the camp at 12:30 pm. Then you will have a 2 or 3 hrs break.

At 03:30 pm you can choose if you want to join one of your guides and hike in the search of a 2000 years old oak found deep inside the nowhere.
Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Parque Internacional La Amistad, Costa Rica
You will have a camp fire night with the starry sky above and some drinks to remember the amazing memories collected in the last 7 days.
Then you will sleep in the lands of the roaring jaguar.
Duration: 12 hours

Day 8: Continental Division Pacific and Caribean

Stop At: La Amistad International Park, Costa Rica
You will wake up with the sounds of wilderness, then your guides will pick up the machetes and make the way to the continental division. Where you can observe the pacific and atlantic ocean in one place.
Breakfast is in the way.
Duration: 4 hours

Stop At: Olam, Puntarenas Province, Punta Arenas, Costa Rica
At 10:30 am you will be back in the camp. And from there you can start the return to civilization.
At 11:30 you will be taking the taxi to Buenos Aires.
Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires, Province of Puntarenas
At 01:00 pm you will be in a restaurant in Buenos Aires on time for lunch.
After lunch it is time to say good bye to your guide and depart to any chosen destination along the south pacific coast.

Your estimated arrival time to any destination on the pacific coast is: 05:00 pm. The drop- off is open for you to choose.
