And if you upgrade to the full day option, there's a Higuey city tour, lunch at a mountain ranch and a beach break, too. Head out into the open fields of the countryside and our first stop is a sugarcane plantation where you’ll learn about the island’s all-important industry used for making rum. There’ll be a fruit and coffee tasting session at a country home, alongside a chance to see how Dominican cigars are made at a rolling factory.
